Senior SAS Underwriting Pricing Analyst - (New Berlin) in Oneonta, New York For Sale

Our client is currently seeking an experienced SAS Developer for a 3 month plus contract to work in New Berlin, NY for an insurance company. DESCRIPTION and RESPONSIBILITIES The consultant will assist the client to re-develop underwriting pricing models for the client s property and casualty business. The consultant will use SAS Enterprise Miner and SAS Office Analytics to develop the pricing models. The consultant must have excellent communication skills and must be able to communicate about the techniques developed and results of analysis both to executives and other analysts in the organization. QUALIFICATIONS Experience developing underwriting pricing models with SAS 9.4 including: Utilizing Enterprise Miner (EM), Office Analytics, SAS/STAT to create project flows which could include aspects of data access, manipulation, summarization, predictive modeling and statistics. The consultant must have proven experience developing underwriting pricing models, rating plans, quoting systems and actuarial experience. The candidate will be required to develop their statistical modeling skills in areas such as segmentation analysis, logistic regression, decision trees, and multivariate analysis. Lead and/or assist with modeling activities related to SAS analytics project discovery, definition, design, development, implementation and follow-on maintenance of the SAS Enterprise Miner analytical environment. Develop an understanding of the client s data environment and how that applies to developing predictive models; that is, analyze and determine what data is available and necessary to create desired pricing/rating model(s), to include reviewing available data sources and identifying appropriate variables (existing, or to be created) for the models. Be proficient in Base SAS programming (DATA step), SQL programming (ie, use of SQL pass-through or PROC SQL), as well as the SAS Macro language for use in making code more efficient. MS-SQL Server experience is preferred. Good written and spoken communications skills in English and thought-leadership skills Please respond with a copy of your word resume.
